Something about my WSC…
I was supposed to be meeting my lecturer in charge, Steven, for a briefing about and access to my WSC laboratory at 4pm. But it was brought forward to 2:30PM because the TSO was sick, and I couldn’t get access to the lab yet.
So we had a talk in one of the room inside Lecturer’s office. I found out that maybe Eric will be able to work with me for FYP afterall as the lecturers in charge of his (WSC) networking division that he isn’t on good terms with his mates. At any rate that’s a good news as I have been wanting to work with him for a while now… but it isn’t confirmed as of now, so we’ll see. :)
I had also took a glimpse of the lab I will be using, it’s a shared lab of total 8 computers divided neatly into their own half of the room - 4 for my web-design division and 4 for software division. Sadly, it’s not as spacious as the one Eric is having because of the amount of the computers and the way they are arranged; but I’ll live. Latest (black-coloured) computers specs and stuffs, just no LCD monitors because Steven said the Principal didn’t think LCD will do any good and is so expensive that the price for one LCD monitor could easily buy 2-3 CRT ones. Oh well. LCD would be cooler, but since it’s not, so be it.
I had also proposed that a friend of mine who is interested in being in the training (and of course, the competition) be added to the team. I hope Steven would accept him, so I’ll wait till next week when my friend will contact him and ask more. Good luck! If he is accepted, it would make a team of 3 people, with more to come, seemingly from the Year 1 of my course.
So until I get access to the lab, which is probably be this Friday, or next Monday, I can’t comment about it. So, till then.
