I had watched merely 2 hours of television programme and I discovered 2 hilarious advertisements.
(Where had the DBS advertisement (that depicts an caucasian going for an hair cut, buying ginseng, and learning how to use a pair of chopsticks to impress his future in-laws) gone to anyway?)
- The Choice

My local TV media is titled MediaCorp. Because of the recent merger (or take-over like I see it) of MediaCorp and SPHMediaworks (another TV broadcast company), MediaCorp had came up with an advertisement saying that they had a new channel under them. And that advertisement had the (sort of) slogan “The Choice“. The moment I noticed it I actually laughed at them being silly.
C’mon, are there other choices now? They are the ONLY choice now anyway.

This is my personal favourite. It’s an advertisement that displays 3 flows of paint joining up saying that the 3 different qualities of the almighty paint has finally became a 3-in-1 product. Great, finally we’re getting the 3-in-1 product! But the product has a “sticker” on it that goes, “NEW AND IMPROVED“.
Think about it, how can something be new and improved at the same time? If it’s new, it CAN’T be improved over an older version, if it’s improved… how can it be new?
Go figure.
