Balance of God.

I could start with the usual It’s been a long time since I last posted a blog entry but guess I decided against so, because it doesn’t only bore you, but me too.

So let’s just get to the point, shan’t we?

Recently, my friends whom had been assigned to take supplementary papers because they didn’t make it on the actual ones did it this time. That’s one big congratulations to the 2 of them, if not too late to do so. I’m just a little few hours behind time, and in fact, I’m quite confident one of them hadn’t known about it yet — well I could be wrong, but who knows. And the one who did, had already blogged about it and I can sense his excitement like I’m experiencing it myself. About the other muddle-head one, I have no idea if she knew already, but I had sent her a message informing her in the event that she has not. Maybe I am already sensing her happiness now.

But God’s fair. Hey, I’m not acting like a Christian or what, and I’m definitely not one to begin with. God in this sense is a generic one — Buddhist’s God, Christian’s God, Hinduism’s God, and the Gods of so many other religions — they all belong to this term, God. At least in this blog entry.

What He gives, He takes. Perhaps there’re an equal amount of sufferings and happiness at the same time, and there’s a balance so not everyone can be happy at the same time due to many reasons. And I mean, really happy, from the bottom of the heart. Understanding this, you should really be contented with what you already have, because you need to know that once God gives you something, he’s bound to take another away. It’s a balance and you can only cry about it.

Why would I say so? Now, it’s a fact that I do not have a very large circle of friends, nope, nowhere near that. But it seems like it’s almost impossible for all of them to even be happy at the same time, if I can recall. Somewhere in their paths of life, they are sure to be tangled by some unhappiness, or sadness caused by external factors or by each other, while the others, overwhelmed with happiness. This is inevitable since we lead different lifestyles so we must learn to adapt and accept because this is the only way out. And somehow, it shows that God is perhaps, really maintaining some sort of balance.

So does God really maintain a balance of happiness and unhappiness? Are there other balances? Like how some people get so rich, and yet some people would starve to death, living days like they don’t have a tomorrow to hope for. Or like how some people could go scot-free after breaking some very bad laws, and some get charged for the most minor offenses (I refuse to quote any examples). And I get all philosophical just by thinking about these possibilities and I’m sorry that it’s rather obvious I do not have an answer to them. What I can share are a couple of thoughts I have about them.

But not having an answer to questions doesn’t put a stop to it. It will only give birth to more uncertainties like, how does He decide who should have what kind of happiness and unhappiness?

I think it’s done through wishing.

Have you ever made a wish? And then it came true? I had, for all of the wishes I made. And believe it or not, all I had to do was to wish for something I really want, and over time, perhaps through pure coincidence, or just by my own hard efforts, I’m bound to have the wish came true. So much so that I am so impressed with myself that I seldom make wishes, but things went wrong against my will — or maybe I’m wishing on the wrong star.

If that’s how God decides what you want in order to sustain happiness, then how does He decide what to take away from you? Beats me, but I’ll share my theory.

Recently, I lost all my IRC nicknames/handles that I had collected for well over 3 years just because I was pre-occupied with something else, only to realise when it was too late. Perhaps I should add on that I lost something more dear than how much the nicks could have possibly meant to me, too. All just in a time span of 1 week. If there is really a God, then He must had chosen to take away them.

And if you think about it, perhaps someone else wished upon the misfortunes that happened to me, because to them, it would be a blessings for they gained, and I lost. So in theory, God has taken something away from me, only to give it to someone else. And it’s only balance that someone has to lose something, for another to gain — think Law of Physics. No one will wish for misfortunes, unless it’s some sorts of sacrificial thoughts. So maybe God decides who to grant by checking a poll of thoughts whereby the amount of people wishing for something to come true collates and you see a pie chart with all the gathered data, and that is so cool. In Chinese traditions, they call this “moving the heaven”, the situation when there are too many truthfully praying for the same purpose, eventually touches the Gods up there, and then decide to have it granted.

So, likewise, maybe you should start wishing. It’s only a hope so you won’t be disappointed if it won’t come true because no expectations bring no disappointment and hence no sadness. So do not be afraid to wish. Be sincere in doing so for the things you really want. And please wish upon the right star, or else someone else would be having all of your wishes come true. And do not be afraid that you’re exchanging someone else’s misery for your happiness, because you would then have to accept the fact that when God takes, God gives and vice versa — and this is why you should really wish for things you really want and have no regrets doing an exchange of some sorts for it. :)

But what if 2 or more persons wish against a purpose? Say, someone wished for something, and someone else is against it coming true. Then how does God decide which way to grant this wish? He doesn’t. That explains why some wishes don’t come true. ;) And this is how it is that somehow not all your wishes will come true if it’s not ideal enough. Just somehow remind yourself that God is striking a balance, and though you don’t get some wishes coming true doesn’t mean that you’re treated with less importance — just remember it’s all balanced and you will feel so much better.

Well, if you read it all, thanks for reading a little something that I thought of and felt like writing. Hope you benefited from it, or at least didn’t fall asleep trying to finish reading it.

Oh yeah. How’s that for a first post of the month? ;)
