Beautiful Illusions - 9PM Channel 8
I really like this serial, Beautiful Illusions, that is showing during weekdays at 9PM on Channel 8. It’s a show starring Fann Wong, Qi Yuwu, Thomas Ong and Yvonne Lim.
The bizarre thing about the two brothers’ new found romance is that both their girlfriends have a strikingly similar physical appearance. No matter how the brothers try to get their girlfriends to meet each other, it would always be in vain. But as Xiaofen soon realizes, the truth is deathlier than it seems…
Now unless you have been living in a cave, you should have watched this show or at least read some texts from that link enough to realise that Fann Wong is having a dual role in this serial which explains why the girlfriends of both the brothers look so similar. (Fann Wong is acting the same entity in the show, with a split personality actually, or so it seems to today’s day of watching. I could be wrong, and that would be a surprise!)
Now there’re a million ways of how the show could end, and I’m going to see how the plot writers had intended it to be though I would really love some surprises from MediaCorp Singapore — so start giving me some! The stories & plots that they came up with these couple of years had been rather disappointing though there were some exceptions — but I just felt like I could write the plots of the other not-so-outstanding ones when I was six. (Hey no offenses to the plot writers, so don’t sue me please!)
And yes, for some reasons, this show has intrigued me enough and I’m going to sing its praises, no matter what the ending is going to be. Maybe it’s the plot of such interesting split-personality, or it’s the combination of Fann Wong and Thomas Ong that enticed me into watching it, just like they did back then with the orchid show “Zai Jian Ying Guang Lan” which I really love alot, even to this day. But I can’t even find the serial on VCD/DVD now. :(
