... is where Sunny Wong writes about nothing in particular and everything in general.

Jam & Hop 2005

Oh so my school held a Jam & Hop event for the new 2005 June intake so people can attend and dance like they never did before. And it had reminded me again why I should never tag along with my friends who go clubbing — the music.

I call it the right music for the wrong audience. It’s quite normal to have techno music and R&B songs in places where people dance; I know. And I saw people going crazy with the songs played, much to my amusement. Well, I just have to admit that my taste for ears is so different — most R&B and techno can’t make me get high, and in fact, most help me to get into some kind of semi-conscious state.

And after what seemed like eternity, they played 3 cool songs in between a few others that really stood out and almost gave me an adrenaline rush. Why almost? The upcoming song after the good one always put a full stop sign to the rush. And it happened 3 times — killing all the mood I had in me already.

The 3 songs are :

  • Jay-Z and Linkin Park - Numb/Encore
  • Black Eyed Peas - Where’s the Love
  • J-Kwon - Tipsy

All that while I was at the back of the crowd where Philbert sat with me the entire time. It wasn’t until 1 hour later after my adrenaline rush died before they start playing interesting songs again, increasing my heart beat rate and blood pressure. And this time, they played them continuously. :) I knew it was time to rock ‘n roll, and go crazy with the songs.

Playlist :

  • Linkin Park - In the End
  • Bon Jovi - It’s my Life
  • B*Witched - Hey Mickey
  • The Wonders - That thing you do
  • Outkast - Hey Ya
  • Akon - Mr Lonely

And there was one more song that I couldn’t remember! That 7 songs merely took like half an hour the most, but that was the most enjoyable moments as far as I am concerned. I was there for these!

Actually I had another motive for going, but it was too dark and I couldn’t make out who the prettier ones were, so mission failed.
