The First day of school.

School reopened today.

WTF? Big hairy deal?

I would think so if today was just any other school day. But it wasn’t. It’s a day I paid the school not to have lecturers teaching me things, but a day I paid the school to work for them — it’s not even free labour. And the only day that I would rush to school by cab instead of being late with the later bus.

Yes, I paid the school fees so I can do a css/xhtml, php/mysql-driven site for a company. Interesting system isn’t it? I sure think so too.

A period of time we students in polytechnics termed as Student Internship Programme(SIP) where we get to get real working experiences with projects and companies. A semester of no examinations or studies, except researches and completing the project assigned to us.

And it’s only the first day. I hope I had seen the worst — the super duper long queue of people waiting for clock in and clock out that stretched over 3 long school blocks (say, probably 100-200m or more).

I hope I didn’t see the best yet. Eric, Jun Yaik and me were enjoying life in our little private computer laboratory playing songs, talking nonsense, and basically wrecking havoc the entire time. And the only reason why we could do so is because we had the whole room to ourselves. I hope this will at least continue, if it’s not the most enjoyable already. The others who shared with many teams couldn’t do so because they would affect the other teams, and there were technicians in charge in their laboratories!

And to think that days ago I was complaining to/with Jun Yaik that our laboratory is isolated in some funny location, sharing with nobody else except our own team. And thus the possible expected loneliness because of that. But it turned out to be otherwise.

I should never forget that everything is a blessing in disguise! And you shouldn’t too; no matter how difficult the situation is. :)
