As if it isn’t enough.
As if the song “Lao Shu Ai Da Mi” hasn’t been overrated and over-sang enough already; now Project Superstar on the local TV channel (Channel U) had to make these final few contestants sing it in unison.
Intially it was irritating enough to have several variations of the exact same song. Then someone had to produce a first song album of some local singer singing just this song, and then remixed the original one she sang into techno and other flavours. Felt almost like it was only for the sake of making money — music industry nowadays, sigh.
Truth is, I actually kind of liked this song a lot but now it’s getting all so irritating hearing it everywhere. It wouldn’t have been that bad if only one person sang it and then it repeated everywhere, something like “Tong Hua” by Guang Liang. Nice and overly-sang, yes, but still his production.
The music industry needs a break and then some new ideas.
