... is where Sunny Wong writes about nothing in particular and everything in general.

Some things.

Some of the items that I didn’t feel like posting an entry on merged together into a big entry.

The Legend of Arching Hero 射雕英雄传

I’ve finished the entire series 2 weeks ago and to date, I think I’ve watched fragments of this show at least 10 times.

This serial follows closely to the original storyline, which is pretty cool as one can watch this show without reading the original text! And trust me, that’s alot of troubles saved reading the chinese characters. :)

Well, we all know the story so let’s give the story’s rating a break. This show is nicely filmed with appropriate computer generated images that can be greatly improved, I say. Cool cast and nice actings that shows how stupid Guo Jing can be, and how witty Huang Rong is? But who am I to judge how well they act, seriously.

All in one, except for far too little fighting scenes, great telling of JinYong’s story; and that’s probably the most important part as I’m really a story-person (one who goes for storylines).

I hope after this, the TV will be showing the sequel you-know-what. :) And I think I’ll be watching this series again and again for a long time to come.

Wait till you’re older 童夢奇緣

I’ve always liked Andy Lau’s movies, be it comedy, romance or any other genre. (And I love it best when he’s coupled with Sammi Cheng.) And this is no exception, albeit being a little too late in saying so because I suspect it’s no longer showing in the local cinemas.

This show is a very powerful movie that tells the power of time, and why you should treasure it. It’s so real despite the plot having some sorts of magical potions that can make one grow up mysteriously over a far shorter time.

Why is it real? It depicts how much every child (and you too) wants to grow up so badly, and then when they indeed grew, they want to become a child again. It also shows you how you should treasure what you have now, and not wish for something that shouldn’t be. And how sometimes there’re things that you will only understand as time passes.

All in one, this show has a moral to say and though it’s a very simple story, there’s more than meet the eyes I say.

Conclusion: Live in the present, not the past or the future. That’s what Andy Lau is trying to tell you, and I think he succeeded (or the director did).

Goo Goo Dolls - Better Days — the Singles

Very seldom do I listen to a song and then feel that it’s very heartfelt.

And then this song came along, and I feel it again, greatly because of the vocalist with his almost tired (and yet struggling for something) voice.

Two of the main segments of lyrics that are exceptionally nicely written:

And you ask me what I want this year
And I try to make this kind and clear
Just a chance that maybe we’ll find better days
Cuz I don’t need boxes wrapped in strings
And desire and love and empty things
Just a chance that maybe we’ll find better days

And it’s someplace simple where we could live
And something only you can give
And thats faith and trust and peace while we’re alive
And the one poor child that saved this world
And there’s 10 million more who probably could
If we all just stopped and said a prayer for them

Ah, so true I feel warmth just listening to it all day long. The sentence Cuz tonight’s the night the world begins again kinda gives hope in times of troubles with all these Bali bombings and Hurricane Katrina in the USA, or maybe I just think too much into this song. Oh well. :)

The Cancer Charity Show 2005

With all due respects for the organisers’ efforts to raise money for the needies, I think that putting Oudeyang up on stage BUT behind a curtain is greatly retarded. I’m glad someone who was cool enough managed to call up local media and inform them how they (and I) feel about this arrangement because I am too timid to — seems like the local authorities are suing bloggers for almost anything they deem offensive and I’m afraid to be the next victim… so I only blog nice things. (roflol)

I wonder if we should be grateful to get Oudeyang on stage, or jeer at them for doing such thing.

Anyway, if they had put him up behind screens to urge people to call up, only to show his face if it reaches certain amount of dollars, then at least that’s good marketing gimmicks (in fact, very good as it serves a good purpose). But I believe they did so only to gain viewers on his upcoming Padang concert.

Ah, businessmen.

Okie, Imma gonna get ready for some overnight events. See you guys 3 days later.

Laters.
