Post-Christmas appreciation
First of all, since I never really had the chance to say “thank you” nor the chance to really wish them back; I would like to extend my thanks to those who wished me “Merry Christmas” either via SMS, MSN or otherwise within the 5 minutes before and after 0000hr of 25th December to light up my lonely Christmas night! I’d received these greetings throughout the day, but those that really count were sent in during this 10 minutes range, from (as far as I can remember — I’d removed the messages) Kim Fong, Jun Yaik, Eric, Minwee and several others — I can’t list them all, but both you and me know who you are.
Special thanks to Eric and Minwee who were especially timely, so they deserve special mentions. You may think that it’s just some simple mass-messaging that could be done without much hassle. Sure. But at least they made the efforts to be as accurate as possible and I was included in the list — why don’t you start doing the same too?
And it’s definitely a memory of a simple gesture that I’ll bring into 2006. And perhaps, I should join them next year to start mass-sending too, in hopes of bringing warmth to those who are going to be spending the festive seasons alone, like the way it did to me.
