Web standards is not XHTML!
Recently, after all the hoo-ha and uproars with regards to web standards-related stuffs in Singapore, especially after a successful WebSG.org meetup, I can’t stress this enough: web standards is not about XHTML! So please don’t start advising people to go XHTML and dump HTML once and for all because it’s pointless if the resulting page is going to be served as text/html. HTML 4.01 Strict is as semantic and (can be) as accessible as XHTML 1.0 Strict can be. If you do wish to go XHTML 1.0 Strict, be my guest but stop advocating it as having more advantages already, it’s kind of misleading. The only thing you should advocate is to attempt Strict doctype at all times.
