In response to Eric’s and more…
Eric posted an entry that mentioned me! So I'll post a rather lengthy response here in my blog. devsync revamp I didn't announce the revamp because I meant it as a placeholder in case I have potential customers. The old design did not work well to tell what we do, and how to contact us if our services are needed. ... continue reading ↠
Something about MSIE7.
Interesting read regarding the CSS problems fixed in the upcoming Beta 2 of MSIE7. Finally they are getting things done. In IE7, we will fix as many of the worst bugs that web developers hit as we can, and we will add the critical most-requested features from the standards as well. Though you won’t see (most of) these until ... continue reading ↠
A change of client — didn’t help.
I was using Azureus to handle my torrent downloads for a long time -- and had been experiencing a very irritating problem for that long too. What kind of problem? One that seemingly disabled all my reverse DNS, everywhere, unless I'm using IP to do connections -- web surfing would then be a pain in the ass, connecting to game ... continue reading ↠
1GBps house-hold? OMG?
Now they are providing 1GBps network service in Hong Kong. I'm so very envious, even of the 100mbps and 10mbps symmetric ones... And now they get 1GBps. Great. Hong Kong Broadband Network (HKBN) officially launched its 1 Gbps symmetric service for the residential market. Approximately 800,000 households, out of a total of 2.2 million households in Hong Kong, are wired ... continue reading ↠
Delayed work.
After some discussions with Eric over the future of our little humble devsync.net thingy, we've finally decided to turn it into something more simple. The previous idea was too trendy and I guess we would stick with this for a long time, hopefully. And that discussion had spawned the new generation of devsync.net -- go have a look, and ... continue reading ↠
CSS - wow.
I have always promoted designing websites using CSS due to the many advantages (over its disadvantages) that many of us already know. Now there's something that amazes me very much as I had never before thought of how CSS could be utilised to do something like this maze. Wow. And do the CSS some justice, don't visit the page using MSIE ... continue reading ↠
Fight comment spams!
Several major search engines had decided to do something about comment spams, thankfully. And hope their efforts work! What it does is basically allow you to set a new rel="nofollow" attribute in your hyperlinks so that search engines won't rank it, and that breaks the purpose of most comment spams. Go read more. Many blogging CMS already had ways or ... continue reading ↠
Microsoft’s AntiSpyware
Check out what the Register has to say about Microsoft's recently released AntiSpyware.
SingNet 3.5mbps plan..
WTF? They just released SingNet Broadband Unlimited 1.5mbps and now they're doing 3.5mbps now. Why didn't they just skip 1.5mbps so I could get the 3.5mpbs instead? But considering the price, and the limitedness of downloading stuffs now, showcasing 3.5mbps at a later date might just be a good news. Check out SingNet 3.5mbps plan any way!
Increased upload speed?
Looks like SingNet Broadband 1.5mbps is getting an upstream upgrade; I was sending a file at 42KB/s just a minute ago. SingNet is keeping it rather low profile!
Damned Event ID 4226!
I've been doing alot of BitTorrent downloads with Azureus recently, that's if it's counted by the gigs instead of the number of files. I've done 18GB of downloads in 16 days as shown in the statistic console. Wow, that sounds like alot to me! So at one time or others, my seeders were low. And at some points some ... continue reading ↠
Microsoft says Firefox not a threat to IE
I have just read the article Microsoft says Firefox not a threat to IE. It's about Microsoft saying that their browser, IE, is up to par with Firefox and that they are not worried about Firefox taking over its market shares. And they have their reasons too. "If there are features in our products that are subpar or need to be ... continue reading ↠
