Avoid these 3 problems on your site/blog!
Using 10-11px font-size. Does reading text of this size makes the reading more fun or sexier? Not to me. Why small when you can have it large and clear? I'm pretty sure most others are on 17" and with a resolution of at least 1024x768. 11px font-size is so 1990s and makes reading difficult if not impossible. Hell, drop ... continue reading ↠
In response to Eric’s and more…
Eric posted an entry that mentioned me! So I'll post a rather lengthy response here in my blog. devsync revamp I didn't announce the revamp because I meant it as a placeholder in case I have potential customers. The old design did not work well to tell what we do, and how to contact us if our services are needed. ... continue reading ↠
Opera 9 Final
Opera 9 Final is out today. It still renders floated inline elements differently from IE6 and Firefox, but identical to Safari 2.0.3. I'm not an expert but according to CSS2.1 specs, looks like Opera and Safari are right -- this explains why the RSS button images are off the horizontal line in Opera because I float them ... continue reading ↠
Sore in the zen design.
There's something fundamentally wrong with my v4(zen) design -- things don't align well to the eye-level and it's a sore. Gotta do something about it again.
I’m a male, boys.
Apparently alot of visitors don't visit the About page and assume that I'm actually a "she" instead of a "he" just based on the fact that I'm using pink & butterfly in my layout. Looks like besides cracking my brain on fixing some browser inconsistencies and generally moving/adding things, I need to work on yet another colour scheme (any ... continue reading ↠
IE7B2P (latest build) geekery.
So I quickly grab a copy of the latest "layout-complete" build of IE7 Beta 2 Preview the moment I read about it. And "layout-complete" means no changes will be made to the rendering engine of IE7 till the final release and it's time to start testing if sites will work in IE7 or break with this release. While downloading ... continue reading ↠
A little conversion of TP’s homepage (to standards-oriented)
The re-code of the current table-based Temasek Polytechnic into a standard-oriented layout is finally ready. Just for sneak preview, please check out these images if you're ... continue reading ↠
Some updates.
Festive season Chinese New Year is due in a day's time. So it's time to roll out some of the geeky things I've been playing with recently, and then get ready for some fun. devcart "Wyvern" alpha 3 Okay, a week has passed since I started work on this basic shopping cart (based on "Building a ... continue reading ↠
Web standards.
This afternoon, wanting to feel geeky, I googled singapore "web standards". I was rewarded with several findings. Some of them thrilled me because today I realise there were efforts to form a local web standards community, and some made me laughed off my chair because they're just too funny -- weird kind of funny. Seriously. Validated and compliant to W3C standards? I came ... continue reading ↠
v4.0 and some senses.
And now that this design is almost a year, and a few other reasons, I'm guessing it's time for a new layout and perhaps a new markup, read on to find out why. Be warned that this is a lot of technical and web standards, you should skip the rest of this entry if you're not entirely interested in the ... continue reading ↠
Something about MSIE7.
Interesting read regarding the CSS problems fixed in the upcoming Beta 2 of MSIE7. Finally they are getting things done. In IE7, we will fix as many of the worst bugs that web developers hit as we can, and we will add the critical most-requested features from the standards as well. Though you won’t see (most of) these until ... continue reading ↠
devsync template 0.7.2
Eric should finally be happy now that I've pushed out a long-due updated layout of the possible design for project devsync. The new stuffs include but not limited to : Width of the container are no longer static. Now it's fixed at 85% of the browser viewport. I guess this makes ... continue reading ↠
